Last 6 months: 1 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Covenant Kitchens & Baths is a Westbrook design-and-remodel firm on the Boston Post Road that people hire for whole kitchens and bathrooms, with the design work done in-house. The company says it has been in business 45 years, and Gerard is listed on Houzz as a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer. It holds a Connecticut home improvement registration, HIC.0554395, in the name Covenant Kitchens & Baths Inc, and the state lists that registration as active. Several customers describe the design process in detail. In a February 2026 Google review, a family renovating the kitchen, mudroom and laundry of a 100-plus-year-old home spent about three months on design with Gerard, Pam and Emily, who flipped the layout to a U-shaped counter. The walls opened onto rotted posts, a caving fieldstone foundation and roof framing issues; the team had estimated 12 to 14 weeks, and the family was using the kitchen again at the 14-week mark. In a February 2026 review, a homeowner described custom cabinetry built by a Pennsylvania shop, installed by Covenant's own carpenters, with a schedule "followed to a T". Several reviews also praise communication. A homeowner in an August 2026 review had two bathrooms redone while away from the house and got daily progress updates through a Google calendar and texts from Pete, the field coordinator. A March 2026 reviewer had an old dining-room hutch replaced with a built-in cabinet Gerard helped design. The written history runs back to 2019 on Houzz, where one couple wrote that they came back for a kitchen after Covenant combined two bedrooms into a master suite. Google shows 4.6 stars from 33 ratings and Houzz 4.9 from 47. Two customers were unhappy. In a December 2025 Google review, a homeowner praised the design and the subcontractors' work but described weak project management: outdoor venting left for the last week of a winter job, a new dishwasher that would not turn on, and a custom under-sink trash pull-out that the faucet knocks off track. In a March 2023 review, a customer wrote that an appointment made two months earlier was rescheduled with 15 minutes' notice. **Strengths:** - In-house design — reviewers describe layouts reworked with Gerard, Pam and Emily - Schedule on old homes — 2026 kitchen job finished inside its 14-week estimate - Progress updates — daily calendar and text updates on a 2026 bath job **Concerns:** - Project oversight — 2025 review cites a dead dishwasher and unfinished venting - Appointment reliability — 2023 review says a visit was moved on short notice ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Active Connecticut home improvement registration HIC.0554395, held by Covenant Kitchens & Baths Inc, listed active by the State of Connecticut _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0554395 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: COVENANT KITCHENS & BATHS INC” - Self-reported 45 years in business _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://www.covenantkitchens.com) — “Self-reported 45 years in business” - Offers free estimates, according to its website _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://www.covenantkitchens.com) — “Stated offer (self-reported): free estimates” - Houzz lists Gerard as a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-remodelers/covenant-kitchens-and-baths-inc-pfvwus-pf~184598134) — “Listed certification: Gerard: Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer” - Houzz lists design awards including a 2016 KBDNews Gold Award and a third place in an NKBA design competition _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-remodelers/covenant-kitchens-and-baths-inc-pfvwus-pf~184598134) — “Listed certification: 2016 GOLD Award - Specialty Projects Category KBDNews” - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-remodelers/covenant-kitchens-and-baths-inc-pfvwus-pf~184598134) — “Listed certification: 1st Place - Traditional Kitchens” - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-remodelers/covenant-kitchens-and-baths-inc-pfvwus-pf~184598134) — “Listed certification: 3rd Place - In Small and Medium Kitchen in The NKBA’s Design Competition” - 4.6 stars from 33 Google ratings and 4.9 from 47 Houzz ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Covenant%20Kitchens%20%26%20Baths%20Inc&query_place_id=ChIJ8daGKwgk5okRP_TkGM2nuhE) — “Google: 4.6★ from 33 ratings” - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-remodelers/covenant-kitchens-and-baths-inc-pfvwus-pf~184598134) — “Houzz: 4.9★ from 47 ratings” - Customers describe in-house design work that reshaped their layouts _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25ORVZEazBTMHRKZDFScmNYVlpNVE5zTlVsNlduYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x11baa7cd18e4f43f!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnNEVDk0S0tJd1RrcXVZMTNsNUl6Wnc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ After checking with family and friends, we contacted Covenant Kitchens & Baths as our first choice to discuss renovating our kitchen, mud…” - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xKU2RVMUNXbGRMZEVabk5WVndNM1JrTUVKMllrRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x11baa7cd18e4f43f!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOlJSdU1CWldLdEZnNVVwM3RkMEJ2YkE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ We were delighted to work with the entire team.
