Last 6 months: 4 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Craft Masonry is a Guilford mason, run by Kevin, whose recent jobs range from a chimney to a whole backyard. On Google it holds 5★ from 11 ratings. In August 2026, customers wrote about Kevin's team repointing and rebuilding a chimney, repairing an old fireplace, and building a new patio and fireplace. An April 2026 customer said the brick front steps turned out to be a bigger job than expected because of how they were originally built; Kevin quickly revised the quote and work began that day, while his team also rebuilt a retaining wall that had fallen apart. The longest accounts are from 2025. A July 2025 owner of a 200+ year old house had the brick and brownstone foundation repointed: the old mortar was ground out, new mortar was squeezed into the joints with a 'burp bag', and at the end the cellar was dry. Another July 2025 customer said Kevin sourced bluestone and Belgian block to match a patio installed over 20 years ago, and stuck to his estimate. A November 2025 reviewer who rebuilt a pool area and backyard said there were no cost surprises even for a project that large. On Houzz, where it shows 5.0★ from 7 ratings, the reviews date to 2017-2019; a 2019 customer described a 480 square foot patio with a propane fire pit and seating wall. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration is active with the state registry. **Strengths:** - Old-house repointing — 2025 brownstone foundation left the cellar dry - Matched stone — 2025 patio extension matched decades-old bluestone - Quote revised fast — April 2026 steps job began the same day ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Connecticut home improvement contractor registration HIC.0642874 is active, held by Craft Masonry _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0642874 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: CRAFT MASONRY” - Google rating of 5 stars from 11 ratings; Houzz 5.0 from 7 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Craft%20Masonry&query_place_id=ChIJN-TWLVsr5okR5NS7IkhMx1k) — “Google: 5★ from 11 ratings” - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/stone-pavers-and-concrete/craft-masonry-andhardscapes-pfvwus-pf~631088829) — “Houzz: 5.0★ from 7 ratings” - August 2026 customers described chimney repointing and rebuilding, an old fireplace repair, and a new patio and fireplace _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xsR2VWOXdhVGhXTkRSU1lXeHBlR1ZrWkRZd1MxRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x59c74c4822bbd4e4!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOllGeV9waThWNDRSYWxpeGVkZDYwS1E%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Kevin and his crew were very detailed and did amazing work .
