On Google it holds a 4.4-star rating from 39 ratings, and a local news site, pbn.com, has named Jay Almeida as its owner. A recent customer said the company liquidated an estate for them: they bought some items at good prices, donated a lot, cleaned out the rest and were available on short notice. A 2025 customer called the prices more than fair. A recent customer who hired Jay to sell a late husband's tools said a lot of items remained after two sales, weeks went by with little communication, and the itemized accounting for the second sale was lost. That customer said Jay kept 35% of what he sold, never finished the job, and the contract was ended by the end of July. A recent reviewer said they responded to an ad for a hot dog machine, arrived just before a 9am pickup at an estate sale, and found the machine already gone. A recent reviewer said a coin collection prominently featured in a sale listing's first photos had already been sold privately when they arrived before opening. **Strengths:** - Estate liquidation — a customer said they bought, donated and cleaned out the rest - Short-notice availability — a customer said they were available on short notice **Concerns:** - Unsold tools left — a customer said items remained and ended the contract - Lost sale accounting — a customer was told the second sale's accounting was lost - Featured item presold — a reviewer found a listed coin collection already sold - Pickup not held — a reviewer arrived to find a hot dog machine gone ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.4-star Google rating from 39 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Curio%20Estate%20Sales%20%26%20Cleanouts%20LLC&query_place_id=ChIJYbY2d15N5IkR1U-PoVh7Jzw) — “Google: 4.4★ from 39 ratings” - A local news site has named Jay Almeida as the owner _(confidence: medium)_ - [Local News](https://pbn.com/curio-sees-steady-sales-since-launching-in-2020/) — “pbn.com — Jay Almeida, second from left, owner of Curio Estate Sales & Cleanouts LLC, haggles prices with the crowd at one of the estate sal…” - Liquidated an estate for a customer: bought, donated and cleaned out the rest _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT21ablpUWjJjbVZZYkc1U2JrWlZTamRJZWt0eFlsRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x3c277b58a18f4fd5!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOmZnZTZ2cmVYbG5SbkZVSjdIektxYlE%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ Excellent job liquidating an estate for us.
