## The honest read

D Berndt Sanitation & Excavation says it was founded in 1974 by Donald and Donna Berndt, starting with one truck and a backhoe, and that it serves residential customers as well as commercial and industrial businesses throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

A 2026 customer facing a failed septic system while preparing to sell their home said Eric explained excavation, septic systems and leach fields, and connected them with an engineer he recommended. That 2026 customer said the work went on through the winter, including heavy snowstorms that buried equipment on-site.

A 2022 customer said the company installed a new water service at their home, correcting a water pressure issue.

Its Better Business Bureau grade is A+.
