## The honest read

D.C. Murray Electric describes itself as an owner-operated residential electrician serving Scarborough and Southern Maine, with rewires, new construction, repairs and panel upgrades on its own list of work.

One recent customer had Dana add recessed lighting to a hallway and mudroom that had never had lights, plus a 240V outlet for a new induction range and an outlet for the dishwasher. The range spot turned out to be a bump-out rather than part of the house over the crawl space, and that customer said Dana still figured out how to get the 240V service exactly where it needed to go, cutting as little drywall as possible in the finished home.

A customer wrote that Dana moved their entire electrical panel, installed a generator, rewired multiple rooms and handled all the permits. That customer also said he will tell you when something does not need to be done instead of trying to sell more work.

A customer who had a bunch of old high hats replaced and switches upgraded wrote that everything got done in time, with time spent explaining how everything worked.

A 2026 customer said Dana did their whole home renovation and praised an eye for the details.

**Strengths:**
- Panel and generator work — a customer had the panel moved and a generator installed
- A tricky 240V run — Dana got 240V service to a range in a bump-out
- Honest scoping — a customer said he says when work is not needed
