Founder Dave began working on chimneys in 2003 and turned that experience into the LLC in 2011; the company's technicians hold several CSIA and NCSG chimney-sweep and reliner certifications, including CSIA Certified Chimney Specialist #36, and the business offers the full range of chimney work — sweeps, inspections, masonry repair, cap and chase-cover installs, relining, flashing repair, animal removal, and wood or pellet stove installation. The independent review history available for this business is thin — just one dated Google review, from 2021. That reviewer reported that a chimney repair the company had performed started leaking again about two years later, and said the company wanted to charge $250 just to camera-scope the problem before offering a fix. With only one documented review on file, there isn't enough independent history to weigh the company's typical work against this one complaint. It's worth asking directly what warranty or callback policy applies to repair work, and getting a clear, upfront cost for any diagnostic visit before agreeing to one. The license number the company lists on its own site has not been verified against a state registry. Given the CSIA and NCSG certifications and the wide New England service area, Dave's Chimney Service is worth a call for chimney sweep, inspection, or repair work — but homeowners should ask pointed questions about repair warranties and diagnostic fees given the single complaint on record. **Strengths:** - CSIA-certified sweeps — technicians hold multiple CSIA and NCSG credentials - Wide service area — self-reported coverage across dozens of MA and NH towns **Concerns:** - Repeat leak reported — a 2021 reviewer said the same repair leaked again two years later - Camera-scope fee — reviewer says a $250 charge was quoted just to inspect it **Where sources disagree:** - The company's self-reported license number (#181598) is unverified — chimney work is not a state-licensed trade under New Hampshire's OPLC, and no independent registry record appears in the evidence. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. -
