A recent customer said tech Rusty installed a new water heater in under 3 hours. A recent customer called the company price-gouging. A 2023 customer who ran out of oil, and with it hot water, said Jen got tech Joey out the same day, and that they bled the lines and filled the tank in less than 15 minutes. In a 2022 review, a customer at 1/4 of a tank, whose previous oil company had pushed delivery to Monday, said Davis Oil promised a fill that same day. A 2022 customer with an oil leak from a failing pipe leg said the tank was drained into 55 gal drums and a temporary line was connected to the furnace so they would have heat. A 2022 customer said the Davis Oil crew removed an aging oil tank and installed a new one. A 2024 customer who used Davis for heating oil and service wrote that it was typically a little more expensive than Heatable, and that they could trust when the oil would show up. A 2024 customer said Davis installed propane for a new whole-home backup generator after other providers could not do a site visit for months. A 2024 customer said the company swapped propane tanks and serviced the furnace on the same visit, and a separate 2024 review praised the installation of a new furnace. A 2025 customer who clipped a line called on a Saturday and said they showed up and had it fixed within an hour. A 2026 customer said a new propane tank was installed, but the fill promised for later that day never came, and they were then told not until the next day. A 2026 reviewer who went to the storefront about a bill sent to their parents said Steve could not produce proof it was owed and criticized them for being disabled. A 2022 customer said they signed up for a Monday delivery at the price listed on the website, that the oil never came, and that the line was busy or off the hook on 5 calls over two weeks. **Strengths:** - Same-day oil fill — a 2023 customer said lines were bled and tank filled - Water heater install — a recent customer said it took under 3 hours - Oil leak response — a 2022 customer said a temporary furnace line kept heat on **Concerns:** - Missed propane fill — a 2026 customer said the promised fill did not come - Billing dispute — a 2026 reviewer said Steve could not show proof - Missed oil delivery — a 2022 customer said the Monday delivery never came ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Says its family has provided fuel delivery and service to Southwestern New Hampshire for a century _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://davisoilandpropane.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): For a century, the Davis Oil & Propane family has been providing our Southwestern New Hampshire neighbors w…” - Website names Stoddard, Chesterfield and Peterborough in its service area _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://davisoilandpropane.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Stoddard, Chesterfield, Peterborough” - 4.6 stars from 57 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Davis%20Oil%20%26%20Propane&query_place_id=ChIJlycHyptz4YkRfi2Mj4e1I8Y) — “Google: 4.6★ from 57 ratings” - A recent customer said tech Rusty installed a new water heater in under 3 hours _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25CZlp6SnBabkZvUkd0M09VUTNUVzFaVjJkeGVrRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xc623b5878f8c2d7e!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnBfZzJpZnFoRGt3OUQ3TW1ZV2dxekE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Once again Davis Oil came through.
