A recent customer who moved into a new house and heard scratching in the walls said Dependable Pest Solutions came out right away, looked over the exterior and quickly recognized the issue. The tech knocked down a wasp nest while he was there, too.

The company is in Rochester; seacoastonline.com has quoted Debby Thompson, owner of Dependable Pest Solutions in Rochester, on wasps. It holds 4.9 stars from 384 Google ratings and 4.8 from 40 on Angi, its BBB grade is A+, and it is BBB accredited. The company says it has been in business 19 years, and its website lists a service area that includes Northwood, Wolfeboro, Portsmouth, Somersworth, Berwick and York.

Nests are a steady part of the work. Skip tore down the shrink wrap on one recent customer's boat, which had multiple wasp nests under it, and destroyed the nest. A customer whose property is serviced twice a year for ants and wasps said Bill is their primary technician, and that they have also called the company for carpenter bees and a nest in their shed. John, one technician, broke open a hive so a customer's 8-year-old daughter, who had questions about wasps, could see inside.

A customer on scheduled maintenance for just over a year said Ashley has kept the critters out of their shed and got the ants and wasps under control. One customer who uses the company for squirrels and carpenter ants said it is easy to get an appointment. On a rat job, a recent customer said the technician baited and set everything up quickly and the follow-up visit was scheduled soon after, though they could not yet say the rat was gone.

A 2026 customer with carpenter ants said Ashley D. came out the next day and checked the attic, the first floor, the basement and outside before suggesting a spray meant for ants. A 2026 customer said Kathleen gave a same-day response and identified bees in the yard as ground nesting bees that are mostly harmless.

A 2024 customer said one-way doors were installed for bats nesting in the eaves, and the company returned to remove the doors and finish sealing the gaps. A 2024 customer said Bill Lemelin took on a yellow jacket nest deep behind rocks around a large tree after the problem had resisted multiple attempts to spray. A 2025 customer with a mouse problem said Ben explained the pricing structure clearly, without pressure or upselling.

A 2025 customer called a one-time treatment very expensive, said it took about 10 minutes, and said they would probably not use the company again. A 2023 customer said some ants were still there a month after Kathleen sprayed, and a second spraying followed a few months later.
