## The honest read

Devo's Tree & Stump removal is hired to take down trees, trim limbs and grind out stumps. Its website lists Hopkinton, Upton, Boylston, Sterling, Worcester and Marlborough as service areas. On Google it holds 5 stars from 74 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades it A+.

A recent customer said Dan gave several options during the estimate, and that the crew was on time and cleaned up after the trimming and removal. A recent customer described an urgent project: removing a line of trees and bushes to make way for a water supply line replacement. A 2026 customer said they took down two very large pine trees, removed the stumps and showed up as scheduled.

A 2025 customer said Devo's removed three trees in a single day after moving into the area in 2021, and later removed trees that fell on the property, one of which had damaged a fence. In a 2024 review, a customer said 8 white pines right next to the house came down without damage to the leach field or power lines. A 2022 customer said they started on two trees and their stumps at 7:10am and were cleaned up by 8:10am.

In a 2023 review, a customer said Dan surveyed the yard, saw no immediate concerns, and said they could save money by doing the pruning themselves. A 2021 customer said Graham ground down a stump along the backyard in 10 minutes so a fence could go in.

**Strengths:**

- Estimate options — a recent customer said Dan offered several choices
- Honest pruning advice — a 2023 customer was told to save money pruning
- Quick stump grinding — a 2021 customer said Graham finished in 10 minutes
