## The honest read

Dilley Wood Floors is a Southbury flooring company that says it has been in business for 40 years, and its website names a service area of Southbury plus Litchfield, Hartford, Fairfield, Middlesex and New Haven. On Google it holds 4.5 stars from 41 ratings.

A customer who recently had random width pegged floors installed in a kitchen said it was the third job Dilley had done for them. One homeowner had two random width pegged floors installed and older hardwood refinished, and said the 'old' floors look new again. Roberto and his crew sanded and stained floors and stairs for a customer who went from an orange red oak to dark walnut after a 4 stain sample.

A 2026 customer let the crew into the house while away, and said Roberto sent photos every day to show the progress. A 2025 customer had floors done while on vacation and said the team came out twice because the original color did not go with the house. A 2023 customer described several wood flooring jobs covering 1,600 square feet in a 200+ year old house, including new hardwood, refinishing original flooring that had been painted, and refinishing treads on two stairways. A 2023 customer said Roberto made several stain samples, and in the end they left the floors natural with a matte finish.

A 2025 customer said Dilley's principals did not return several phone calls and an e-mail about a squeaking floor in a room where new wood was installed, while the rest of the job went well. A 2023 customer said the owner did not show up for an appointment after a wait of well over 3 hours. A 2023 customer complained of a rude secretary hanging up the phone.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0646861, as active, held by Dilley Wood Floors & Supplies LLC.

**Strengths:**
- A pegged floor install — a recent customer's third job with Dilley
- Stain sampling — a recent customer chose dark walnut after a 4 stain sample
- Daily progress photos — a 2026 customer got photos while away
- A color redo — a 2025 customer said the team came out twice

**Concerns:**
- Unreturned calls — a 2025 customer's squeaking floor calls went unanswered
- A missed appointment — a 2023 customer waited well over 3 hours
