## The honest read

Done Right Handyman Services lists handyman work, painting, carpentry, gutter cleaning, furniture assembly, drywall and doors among its services, and its site says it has been in business 20 years.

A recent customer said Elmer handled door replacements, wall repair and painting, and bathroom fixture installs and repairs in a couple of days. A recent customer said Elmer showed up on time for a very last-minute request at a reasonable price. A recent customer said Elmer and his nephew Edison moved a 60-lb office chair up two flights of stairs and removed the old chair, and that the company came in significantly lower than the other handyman businesses they compared.

A 2025 customer said Elmer and his crew installed a Thule rack, organized the garage and handled junk removal. A 2025 customer said they needed new walls taped, mudded, sanded and primed, and Elmer was at their house within hours of reaching out for a quote. A 2025 customer said Elmer and his team replaced the lattice around their deck and repaired the broken door under it. A 2025 customer said Elmer found the serial number on their grill and arranged for the rusted parts to be replaced under warranty for free. A 2024 customer said Elmer came within 15 minutes of the call to fix broken cabinet hinges and drove up to Darien to get special hinges. A 2023 customer said Elmer came within the hour to diagnose and fix the latch on a casement window. A 2022 customer said the company cleaned the gutters and cleaned up afterwards.

A recent customer said they asked days in advance for a quote, received a $900 quote at 10 PM the night before the job for mounting a TV, shelves and picture frames in a studio apartment, and that he then stopped responding.

**Strengths:**
- A multi-task visit — a recent customer said the work finished in a couple of days
- A cabinet hinge fix — a 2024 customer said Elmer drove to Darien for hinges
- A window latch fix — a 2023 customer said Elmer came within the hour

**Concerns:**
- A late $900 quote — a recent customer said it came at 10 PM the night before
