The first repair got the upper section cooling, but the freezer still did not work. On a return visit, the customer said Doug identified a refrigerant leak, recommended replacement because another repair would be costly, and refunded the earlier payment apart from labor. The customer described receiving photos and communication about the money he left at the home. Doug's Appliance Repair Service says it repairs washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and garbage disposals, and describes 30 years in business. Google showed 4.7 stars from 103 ratings in September 2026. A June 2026 reviewer credited Doug with fixing a refrigerator and saving them from buying a replacement. An October 2025 customer described repairs to a three-year-old GE dishwasher and a seven-year-old Maytag washing machine: Doug diagnosed the problems and ordered parts on the first visit, then scheduled a prompt return visit to finish the work. That customer called the price fair. In January 2026, another reviewer praised the price and explanations after Doug helped resolve a dishwasher issue they attributed to another company. A November 2022 customer described an oven repair that left the oven working again. They said Doug arrived within the promised window, explained the appliance, offered advice and future options, and charged a reasonable amount. **Strengths:** - Unprompted refund — a January 2025 customer described repayment after a return visit - Refrigerator repair — a June 2026 customer avoided buying a replacement - Appliance repair pricing — October 2025 and January 2026 customers praised the price - Oven repair explanations — a November 2022 customer praised repair and appliance guidance ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A January 2025 customer said Doug refunded almost two-thirds of a refrigerator-repair payment, retaining labor cost, after recommending replacement on a return visit. _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://maps.google.com/?cid=13339005148834547366&g_mp=CiVnb29nbGUubWFwcy5wbGFjZXMudjEuUGxhY2VzLkdldFBsYWNlEAIYBCAA) — “5★ Wow, what a great person he is! 10/5 , if anyone looking for genuine person to take care of your appliances, I would strongly recommend D…” - A June 2026 customer said Doug fixed their refrigerator and saved them from buying a replacement. _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://maps.google.com/?cid=13339005148834547366&g_mp=CiVnb29nbGUubWFwcy5wbGFjZXMudjEuUGxhY2VzLkdldFBsYWNlEAIYBCAA) — “5★ Doug did an amazing job fixing our fridge!
