--- title: "DR. Fix-it, LLC" description: "DR. Fix-it, LLC is a Swampscott general contractor whose written record is genuinely old — three reviews on Angi run from 2008 to 2014, and its Massachuset" doc_version: "2026-08-19" last_updated: "2026-08-19" --- # DR. Fix-it, LLC **Trade:** General Contractor / Remodeling · **Address:** 49 Salem St, Swampscott, MA · **Phone:** (781) 608-3311 · **Languages:** English, Spanish **Rating: 2.6/5** (low confidence) — from 3 reviews across 2 sources. ## The honest read DR. Fix-it, LLC is a Swampscott general contractor whose written record is genuinely old — three reviews on Angi run from 2008 to 2014, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (#180687) is expired. The written history splits. In a 2008 review, a customer called the work 'very high end quality remodeling' with a 'professional, skillful & efficient' crew and 'meticulous' attention to detail. A 2014 review described a gutter and flashing repair the crew handled quickly, sending photos before starting, though they left rotted wood and nails behind. A more troubling 2013 account said the owner was pushy, rarely onsite, and went six months without returning to finish a job — with paint already chipping and rust stains left on the railings; the reviewer noted having heard the owner had fallen ill. Angi's own profile self-reports 33 years of experience, Spanish spoken, and a kitchen and bath remodeling focus, and BuildZoom's permit history shows four projects in Revere, Beverly and Peabody between 2007 and 2020 — but neither the expired registration nor the age of the review history supports treating this as a current, active operation. Confirm current licensing and availability directly before hiring. **Strengths:** - High-end craftsmanship — a 2008 review praised meticulous, skillful work - Fast repairs — a 2014 review said gutter work moved quickly with photos **Concerns:** - Expired license — MA HIC registration is expired - Unfinished job — a 2013 review described 6 months with no return - Owner communication — a 2013 review called the owner pushy and often absent - Leftover debris — a 2014 review said rotted wood and nails weren't hauled away ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (#180687) is expired, verified against the state registry. _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://contractorhub.mass.gov/s/hic-contractor-search) — “MA hic license 180687 registry-verified expired — registry holder of record: DR. They were able to replace the gutter/flashing that had rotted and even sent pictures of it before work began. They did not take the junk (rotten wood, nails) with them however. - **2/5 · Angi · Stephanie Z. · 2013-10-01**: The owner was very pushy and he was NOT onsite during the construction to oversee the project. He is very knowledgeable about his trade, meticulous to detail and does exceptionally fine workmanship.
