Last 6 months: 13 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read A sliding wooden door that would no longer slide, repaired and repainted in an hour and a half; a bathroom skylight screen that was falling down; a dutch door set into a concrete base: Economy Handy Carpenter's reviews from this fall alone read like a fix-it list, and the name in those reviews is Nixon. The company carries 4.8 stars from 283 HomeAdvisor ratings, 4.9 from 99 on Angi and 5 from 35 on Google, and its website cites 31 years in business and a service area across Fairfield County towns from Greenwich and Norwalk to Danbury and Ridgefield. Recent jobs include small repairs done fast. A June 2026 customer needed the roof over a large bay window rebuilt with new plywood and flashing because of rot, and called the work quick and neat. A May 2026 customer had playroom accessories mounted on the walls and said everything was secured and cleaned up afterward. In an April 2026 review, a customer on a limited budget said Nixon corrected a door that would not lock in a crooked frame and installed two storm doors, picking up the doors and hardware himself, all in two hours. In February 2026, a customer whose storm door was hanging by one hinge said he fixed it the same day while she was out and charged a very reasonable price. The larger projects are older. In an April 2024 review, a customer described a three-week bathroom renovation with Nixon and two workers on site six days a week, cleaning up every day. A 2024 customer said the team fixed eight windows that would not stay up in a single day after other professionals called them unrepairable. In a 2022 review, a customer described the team restoring a flooded walkout lower level with new walls, baseboards, paint and a fire door in an unusually sized frame, and wrote that it was not a budget job but worth the cost. Two reviewers raised something. An October 2026 customer, otherwise full of praise for a dutch door installation, said communication can be somewhat challenging. In a February 2025 review, a customer said the crew told them a leaking pipe was theirs, leaving them responsible for the damage, and only later found out it was not.
