## The honest read

Elite Metal Framing & Construction is a Wakefield trade subcontractor rather than a remodeling company: light gauge metal framing, complete drywall and plaster packages, insulation, acoustical ceilings and USG LevelRock gypsum underlayments, supplied to construction projects across Greater Boston and New England.

The scale it works at shows on the Procore profile it has claimed — a specialty contractor in rough carpentry, on the network since August 2023, with 18 projects there and 12 of them active, at an average project size of about $11.5 million. Procore lists its market sector as commercial only, while the company's own site says it supplies commercial, retail and residential construction alike.

Two things are worth settling before calling. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #193975, is expired on the state registry, and BuildZoom lists that same number with an expiration date of 12-20-2023 — that registration is what covers residential work for a homeowner. The other is scope: what it describes selling is a trade package a builder buys, framing and board, not a finished room.

This is the outfit a general contractor calls for steel studs and hung board on a large job. A homeowner calling direct should ask first whether they take residential work at all, and get the registration question answered before anything is signed.

**Strengths:**
- Large-project scale — 18 Procore projects averaging about $11.5 million each
- Full wall package — framing, drywall, plaster, insulation, acoustical ceilings
- Claimed trade profile — Procore lists rough carpentry across Massachusetts

**Concerns:**
- Expired registration — state registry shows HIC #193975 expired
- Commercial focus — Procore lists the commercial market sector only

**Where sources disagree:**
- The company's own site says it supplies commercial, retail and residential construction, while its claimed Procore profile lists it as serving the commercial market sector only.
