Empire Construction Waterproofing is an Oxford company whose website says it has 20 years of basement waterproofing and foundation sealing work; it holds 5★ from 22 Google ratings. Kris is the name customers write about. An August 2026 review says he finally made a basement water free, waterproofing a vertical crack and coming back to check that everything had settled. In a December 2025 review, a customer said his proposal skipped the expensive extras 2 other companies had included, his estimate was spot on, and he went on to set up a dehumidifier and rebuild their dock. An October 2025 reviewer described him coming the day before a house closing to price a wet basement so it could be negotiated, and later checking an odor without charging for the visit. A February 2023 Angi review says the sump wells went at the base of the foundation, and an October 2021 customer reported no water in the basement after severe rain. The work goes beyond basements: an October 2025 review describes land clearing and excavation for a 12000 gallon pond, and in November 2024 a customer said Kris removed approximately 80 tons of gravel a storm had washed onto their lawn and pond. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0★ from 15 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. The website offers free estimates and says the company is insured. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0651979, is active. **Strengths:** - Middle-of-night response — 2025 customer had Kris there within an hour - Honest estimates — 2025 review: no extras, no added expenses - Dry basements — 2021 and 2026 reviews report no water after the work ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Arrived within an hour of a 3:00 a.m. call, traced the leak and returned to repair the ceiling at no charge, per a June 2025 review _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VOal95OC1tbE4zaS1RRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xc4bc0c2bf62e34ba!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKENj_y8-mlN3i-QE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Water in our basement had become a regular problem.
