## The honest read

End Grain Woodworks is a carpentry business led by Kieran McCauley, whom a 2017 customer called the owner. The company says it has been in business for 30 years.

In a 2017 review, a customer said the company was selected to custom-design and build a wine cellar, that Kieran came for a site visit on a late evening, and that the installation took place within a month. A 2015 customer said three other contractors had replaced rotting wood without fixing an ongoing water-damage problem, and that Kieran replaced the entire north face of the home, which that customer said was still dry nearly two years later.

A 2015 customer said the End Grain Woodworks team framed rooms, mounted windows and doors, provided molding and trim work, and designed and installed the main staircase. A 2015 reviewer in Wilton, CT listed a new staircase banister, a new fireplace mantle and a new entertainment built-in among the projects Kieran McCauley had done for them. A construction manager wrote in 2015 of relying on Kieran McCauley and End Grain for millwork and trim carpentry on their projects. A 2015 customer said Kieran did most of the trim in their home, along with some millwork.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0642579, as active, held by End Grain Woodworks LLC.

**Strengths:**
- Water-damage repair — a 2015 customer said the north face stayed dry
- A custom wine cellar — a 2017 customer said installation took place within a month
- A main staircase — a 2015 customer said the team designed and installed it
- Trim and millwork — a construction manager relied on them in 2015
