## The honest read

Express Roofing & Remodeling is a Waterbury roofer that says it has served the area for over 10 years, doing roof repairs and replacements plus siding, gutters and windows. Customers name Chris, who did the estimates, and Mario. Google shows 4.8 stars from 29 ratings.

The jobs move quickly. In a May 2019 Angi review, a customer said the crew arrived about 8 am and had everything done and cleaned up before 4, with Chris both estimating and overseeing the job. An August 2023 Google customer said their roof was done in 2 days. A November 2023 customer said the company did their porch roof, including a difficult skylight repair and installation, at a fair price and on schedule. A February 2025 customer said the company got their roof approved by the insurance and used quality materials, and a 2019 out-of-state customer said the crew sent pictures and videos of the finished work on their second home.

A February 2025 Google review is a sharp 1-star complaint: the writer said they were going to hire the company but it failed to return calls and never gave them a quote, that they called 4 times within a week before reaching anyone, and that they were threatened with "I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE" and a lien on their house.

Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 stars from 4 ratings, and the BBB grade is A+. The company offers free estimates and 24/7 emergency service.

Connecticut's registry lists its home improvement contractor license, HIC.0653803, as "INACTIVE — DUE TO NON-RENEWAL OF CREDENTIAL."

**Strengths:**
- Fast installs — a 2019 roof was done and cleaned up in one day
- Insurance help — a 2025 customer says the roof was approved by insurance
- Tricky repairs — a 2023 porch roof included a difficult skylight

**Concerns:**
- Threat complaint — a 2025 writer reports unreturned calls and a lien threat
- Lapsed license — Connecticut lists HIC.0653803 as inactive, non-renewal
