## The honest read

Fairfield County Garage Doors holds 4.9 stars across 73 HomeAdvisor ratings and an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. On its BBB profile the company describes itself as doing garage door installation and repair.

A recent Thumbtack customer said Dan showed up when he said he would, fixed the spring on the door and made a few adjustments, at a fair price for the work.

A 2022 Google reviewer wrote that Dan matched a specific color to a new front door after a few other places couldn't, and that the doors were installed with new hardware in one day. In a 2022 HomeAdvisor review, a customer whose garage door spring and cables broke said Dan came and fixed the garage the same day. A 2024 Angi customer said the work Dan and his crew performed matched the quote exactly, and they took the old debris with them afterwards. A 2021 HomeAdvisor customer said an installer named Rob installed 3 Liftmaster units on a 3-bank garage.

A 2022 Google reviewer gave one star after an estimate visit: the promised quote never came, and when called, he said he forgot and then never called back, so that customer hired another company. A 2021 HomeAdvisor customer felt the service charge was higher than other companies' for a battery replacement that took 10 minutes. A 2021 HomeAdvisor customer found the schedule a bit difficult to settle but praised them once they arrived.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0654597, as active, held by FAIRFIELD COUNTY GARAGE DOORS LLC.

**Strengths:**
- Fair-priced spring fix — a recent customer said Dan fixed the door spring
- Same-day spring repair — a 2022 customer said Dan fixed it the same day
- Color-matched doors — a 2022 customer said Dan matched their new front door

**Concerns:**
- A missed quote — a 2022 customer said the promised quote never came
- Service charge — a 2021 customer felt a 10-minute battery swap cost too much
