On its website it says it can design a project from scratch in CAD and provides as-builts, engineering and land surveying, renderings and full sets of plans. The company says its name, Faros, is Spanish for lighthouse. It holds 5.0 stars from 7 ratings on Houzz and 5 stars from 3 ratings on Google, and its Houzz profile lists a Westport Historical Preservation Award 2017. In a 2022 Google review, a preschool wrote that Faros Design designed and built an addition onto its center, in a building from the mid-1800s, while the center still operated; the reviewer said the work never disrupted the operation and left them with a new classroom. A 2019 customer who had moved from abroad said Daniel, their project manager, planned their house remodel in phases around their move-in, and that the team recommended steps such as sealing the ducts and sanding the old wooden floors. That 2019 customer said the company helped vet other professionals for the fireplace, and that after more than 6 months of work on and off the inside of the house was barely recognizable. A 2017 customer wrote that the company completely remodeled the kitchen of a house built in 1912, bumped out the house to take in 2 former porches, remodeled 3.5 bathrooms and renovated the 3rd floor. A 2017 customer said Faros moved their laundry upstairs into part of the bonus space over the garage, turned the old laundry room into a mud room, and secured the proper permits. In a 2017 review, a customer said the company used an online app that showed the status of the project work. A 2018 customer said Faros did 2 bathrooms, that Danny Arena ran the job, and that the workers were neat and clean. A 2017 customer who hired Faros to remodel two bathrooms before their son was born said a snowstorm delayed the final installation, and the owner and his son came in the middle of the blizzard to finish the job, even shoveling the driveway. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0642510, held by Faros Design Build Remodel LLC, as expired. **Strengths:** - A preschool addition — a 2022 customer said the center's operation was never disrupted - Phased house remodel — a 2019 customer said Daniel planned it around their move-in - A blizzard finish — a 2017 customer said the owner and his son completed the bathroom - Permit handling — a 2017 customer said the company secured the proper permits ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Says it has provided design, construction and remodeling services in the New Haven and Fairfield County regions for over 30 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/milford/profile/general-contractor/faros-design-build-remodel-llc-0111-87090018) — “About (Better Business Bureau, self-described): We have provided design, construction, and remodeling services throughout the New Haven and …” - 5.0 stars from 7 Houzz ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/design-build-firms/faros-design-pfvwus-pf~1544157573) — “Houzz: 5.0★ from 7 ratings” - 5 stars from 3 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Faros%20Design&query_place_id=ChIJXWfiSXd16IkRzqFaqOxYPE8) — “Google: 5★ from 3 ratings” - Houzz profile lists a Westport Historical Preservation Award 2017 _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/design-build-firms/faros-design-pfvwus-pf~1544157573) — “Listed certification: Westport Historical Preservation Award 2017” - A 2022 customer said the company designed and built an addition onto a preschool center in a mid-1800s building while it operated _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChZDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSURtNTlISkd3EAE!2m1!1s0x0:0x4f3c58eca85aa1ce!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgIDm59HJGw%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ We worked with Faros Design to design and build an addition onto our preschool center.
