Field Home Inspections is based in North Adams and says it has been in business for 20 years. Google reports 70 ratings averaging 4.9 stars, and the Better Business Bureau gives it an A+ grade. The May 2026 repeat customer describes Peter as thorough and says his explanations have helped with their home-buying decisions; three of the four inspected homes were purchased. Earlier customers also praised the reporting. In March 2024, a customer who had hired Peter twice described detailed reports and patient explanations. A July 2023 reviewer said he walked through each part of the house, explained what needed immediate attention and what was in good condition, and delivered the report within an hour of completing the in-person inspection. A June 2023 first-time buyer praised flexible scheduling, clear explanations, photographs, and a detailed report delivered the same day. A July 2026 customer raises a different experience. They praise easy scheduling and a well-done report, but say the inspector missed moss on the roof, which they link to an insurance cancellation notice. They also say the inspector identified a failed seal on a sliding window but did not highlight failed seals on four large trapezoidal windows, each costing $1,000 to replace. That complaint concerns missed inspection findings, despite the customer's praise for the scheduling and report. **Strengths:** - Practical explanations — a May 2026 repeat customer praised Peter's approach to older buildings - Prompt reports — 2023 customers described same-day delivery and delivery within an hour **Concerns:** - Missed inspection findings — a July 2026 customer reported overlooked roof moss and window seals ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - The company says it has been in business for 20 years. _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://www.fieldhomeinspect.com) — “Self-reported 20 years in business” - Google reports 4.9 stars from 70 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau gives the company an A+ grade. _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Field%20Home%20Inspection&query_place_id=ChIJ4ciugRSojwMRE8LA_Z6AImA) — “Google: 4.9★ from 70 ratings” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/north-adams/profile/home-inspection/field-home-inspection-0261-352616) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - A May 2026 customer who used Peter for four inspections praised thoroughness and practical explanations, particularly for older buildings. _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://maps.google.com/?cid=6927240597199700499&g_mp=CiVnb29nbGUubWFwcy5wbGFjZXMudjEuUGxhY2VzLkdldFBsYWNlEAIYBCAA) — “5★ I’ve used Peter for four home inspections now, three of those 4 homes have been purchased, and I wouldn’t consider using another inspecto…” - A July 2023 customer said Peter explained repair priorities and delivered a report within an hour after the in-person inspection. _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://maps.google.com/?cid=6927240597199700499&g_mp=CiVnb29nbGUubWFwcy5wbGFjZXMudjEuUGxhY2VzLkdldFBsYWNlEAIYBCAA) — “5★ Peter was such a helpful inspector with a wealth of information and know-how.
