## The honest read

FireElement is a Saugus, MA business that calls itself "the gas fireplace and insert specialist" on its website. It says it uses only direct vent technology, with a sealed firebox that lets no air from the room into the firebox and no fumes into the room. In its Better Business Bureau self-description, it says it specializes in converting traditional wood-burning fireplaces into gas units. It holds an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau and is listed there as accredited. In a 2025 boston.com article, Gregory LaPierre, a manager for Saugus-based Fire Element, said gas fireplaces, electric fireplaces and even some pellet stoves are popular options for new construction homes.

A June 2026 review describes hiring them to remove and replace an existing gas fireplace. Justin walked through the options and showed which Heat & Glo models would fit the space, and after a thorough site inspection his crew removed the old fireplace, saved the existing mantel and hearth, and air-sealed, insulated and installed the new unit. A May 2026 review thanks Greg in the showroom for his patience and Joe and his team at the NH office for their help with the installation of an insert.

In a January 2025 review, a gas insert went into an old unused fireplace, with Greg and Crystal helping get the right configuration and coordinate the steps; that review says the team, including vendors Fire Element recommended such as CRN for plumbing and electric, scheduled and completed work quickly and were super clean. In a January 2017 review, Brendan was helpful, accommodating and responsive, and the installation of a gas fireplace insert was scheduled quickly. A December 2016 review says Brendan walked through the entire process without being pushy and the fireplace install was seamless and on time.

An April 2025 review describes a quote of "$6500 installed" that jumped to $9200 after a home inspection, once a deposit was down, and says the salesperson was unreachable for over 2 weeks while still holding the deposit. A 2018 review was not happy with the plumber and said there was a lack of communication between the three parties involved.
