A 2022 customer said that after two visits from the oil company that installed their hot water heater failed to fix a loss of hot water, Flaherty set an appointment for the very next day. In that 2022 account, the technician diagnosed a defective thermostat in five minutes, was back with the part in under an hour, and had the issue resolved before the originally scheduled appointment time. A 2022 customer said Lou helped with frozen pipes and repaired them promptly. A 2024 customer said the company came out the same day and fixed a rusted out shower drain for a reasonable price. A 2024 customer wrote that they had used Flaherty for years at a house and a rental property, including for emergencies with broken showers and drains. A 2022 customer dealing with a leak and a burst pipe said the woman in the office was kind, patient and responsive. A 2024 customer said the company installed a back flow pressure device for a sprinkler system, turned the water on without telling them, and the system froze two months later; that 2024 customer said the company was unwilling to work with them to fix the mistake. A 2021 customer called the service very, very expensive and said the company may be busy for people not well known to it. **Strengths:** - Next-day appointment — a 2022 customer said a thermostat fix came early - Frozen pipe repair — a 2022 customer said Lou repaired them promptly - A same-day drain fix — a 2024 customer said a shower drain was fixed **Concerns:** - Backflow device install — a 2024 customer said the system froze afterward - Price level — a 2021 customer called the service very, very expensive ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Says it has been in business for 77 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://flahertyplumbingheating.com) — “Self-reported 77 years in business” - Lists a service area including Norwalk, Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Westport and Fairfield _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://flahertyplumbingheating.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Norwalk, Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Weston, Westport, Southport, Fairfield” - A 2022 customer said a technician diagnosed a defective water heater thermostat and resolved it before the scheduled appointment time _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSUR1aVlqMy1nRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x171d6f85634b7f13!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgIDuiYj3-gE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ After 2 visits from the oil company who installed my hot water heater, they were unable to resolve the loss of hot water problem.
