Last 6 months: 5 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read A covered porch, a shed/workshop sized for furniture restoration, and a barn wrapped in custom woodwork: the jobs customers describe for Freeland Renovation & Construction run from new outbuildings to finish carpentry. The company calls itself a family-owned remodeling and new construction business serving Rhode Island, Eastern Connecticut and Southern Massachusetts, with over 30 years of combined experience in residential and commercial renovations, and its website says it is insured. All five of its written Google reviews date from June and July 2026, and Google shows 5 stars from 7 ratings. Two names keep coming up. In a June 2026 review, a customer said Josh and Adam built a covered porch and a shed/workshop, were "timely, respectful," and matched both to the look of the house — "My porch is a little bit of heaven on earth!" Another June 2026 reviewer described Josh's work in their barn: woodwork around the perimeter, an accent wall backdrop and a custom industrial metal pipe staircase railing. A third credited Josh with work on their upstairs and downstairs and said they plan to bring him their other projects. Smaller jobs show up too. One June 2026 customer had the crew patch holes in old popcorn ceilings and wrote that "you can't even tell there was holes there." The trade also vouches for them: in a July 2026 review, Macomber Bros. Construction, a general contractor focused on custom kitchens and bathrooms, said Freeland has assisted on dozens of its projects, citing work ethic, craftsmanship and site tidiness. The Rhode Island state registry lists the company's home improvement contractor licence, GC-46786, as expired — the registry's own word is "INVALID" — under the holder name Freeland Renovation & Construction. **Strengths:** - Porch and shed builds — June 2026 review praised fit with the home - Barn woodwork — accent wall and pipe staircase railing, June 2026 - Trade referral — a general contractor says they assisted on dozens of jobs **Concerns:** - Expired RI licence — state registry prints GC-46786 as INVALID ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A June 2026 customer said Josh and Adam built a covered porch and a shed/workshop, matched to the look of the home, and were timely and respectful _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2pscU1sVkhhM1p6V1VGRlpUSkNVbU5rTjNwUGIzYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xc4da9c06f3f933d6!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOjlqMlVHa3ZzWUFFZTJCUmNkN3pPb3c%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ I recommend Freeland Renovation & Construction to anyone looking for high-quality building work.
