The site lists roofing, siding, gutters, chimney repairs and full exterior renovations. One customer said Mr Girardi and his crew tarped off the house to protect windows and plants, tore off the old roof and put a new one on in one day. That customer said they raked the yard and ran a nail magnet, and that John could tell which wood under the old roof needed replacing before the roof came off. A customer whose previous contractor left off the roof flashing said John and his team repaired it, and that after the last two storms the roof no longer leaks; John also replaced a rotted attic window to match the house's other windows. A customer who had a 2 car garage roof done said the pricing was fair and they showed up when they said they would. One family said John has helped them over the years with roof installation, gutter installation, attic venting and skylight installation. A 2025 customer said John installed skylights that 6 years later looked good and operated as intended, and that he came back over the years to fix a few leaks, remove an old chimney and repair damage from leaking chimney mortar. A 2025 customer wrote that their roof, done 4 years earlier, had given them no problems. A recent 1-star customer said John used cheap shingles and had to come back 3 times to fix work that was not done right, that the roof still leaks, and that he never returned their calls or texts. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0643476, as active, held by Girardis Restorations LLC. **Strengths:** - One-day reroof — a customer said tear-off and new roof happened in one day - Yard cleanup — a customer said they raked the yard and ran a nail magnet - Flashing repair — a customer said the roof stopped leaking after two storms - Skylight install — a 2025 customer said skylights still worked 6 years later **Concerns:** - Leak after repairs — a recent customer said the roof still leaks, calls unreturned ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.8-star Google rating from 23 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Girardi's%20Restoration&query_place_id=ChIJi55E9fPX54kRNtWqzEQxVoE) — “Google: 4.8★ from 23 ratings” - The company says it is owned and operated by John Girardi and lists roofing, siding, gutters and chimney repairs _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.girardisrestorations.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Girardi’s Restoration is a trusted New Haven, CT contractor owned and operated by John Girardi, who has bee…” - A customer said the old roof came off and a new one went on in one day, with the house tarped and the yard cleaned _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2tGNVVYZHJUVk5HTkcxMWIxVlFOSFZSVXpVMFowRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x81563144ccaad536!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkF5UXdrTVNGNG11b1VQNHVRUzU0Z0E%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ I had Mr Girardi and he’s crew roof my home and my neighbors garage..let me tell you these guys put in WORK!
