Last 6 months: 4 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read A recent Gove Restoration customer said the company led a kitchen, dining/living room and hallway renovation, with the work running from carpentry over plumbing and electrical to painting. That customer said Adam communicates daily updates, answers questions by phone or text, and that they leave the work space organized and clean. The company describes itself on its website as family owned and operated. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0600132, is active on the state registry, with Gove Restoration LLC as the holder of record. On Google it shows 5 stars from 15 ratings. For a recent back deck project, the customer said the pool deck was removed, the frame of the remaining deck turned out to need complete replacement, and Matt Gove and team adjusted the plan to keep the same footprint and the custom-built shed under the tallest deck. That customer said they were working on the job every day weather permitted. Matt's team also completed an interior paint project for a recent customer, who said the work was done timely. A 2025 customer with a paint blistering problem said Matt applied a special sealer after extensive prep, and it began blistering almost immediately. That 2025 customer said he then credited the initial estimate, they sanded all the paint off the house, and it worked. A 2025 customer had front steps redone and the house painted, and said Matt was responsive and upfront. In a 2024 review, a customer said Gove Restoration replaced 40-year-old back steps, did a full exterior paint job and updated a 60-year-old bathroom at their mother's house in Newington, replacing the bathtub with a walk-in shower. In a 2022 review, a customer said Gove remodeled their 1910 kitchen and downstairs bathroom, coordinated the details for the cabinets, and installed hardwood flooring and lighting; that 2022 customer said the work was performed on schedule. A 2022 customer said Gove Restoration designed a kitchen with an updated layout for a 1930s cabin with a short ceiling, exposed brick walls and wooden beams. For a roof replacement quote on a historic home in Old Wethersfield, a 2022 customer said the company provided a sampling of previously approved architectural shingles and ensured all required approvals were secured before the job started. **Strengths:** - Daily updates — a recent customer said Adam answers questions by phone or text - A rebuilt deck frame — a recent customer said the plan kept the same footprint - A 1930s cabin kitchen — a 2022 customer said Gove designed an updated layout - Historic district approvals — a 2022 customer said required approvals were secured first **Concerns:** - A blistered first sealer — a 2025 customer said it blistered almost immediately ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Connecticut home improvement contractor registration HIC.0600132 is active on the state registry, holder of record Gove Restoration LLC _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0600132 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: GOVE RESTORATION LLC” - 5 stars from 15 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Gove%20Restoration%20LLC&query_place_id=ChIJ3X1PNYZS5okRMucw1pbJ0eg) — “Google: 5★ from 15 ratings” - A recent customer said the company led a kitchen, dining/living room and hallway renovation _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2sweU5VOHhhWG95U1ZKbE4yUk5hMlY1T0RGWmRXYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xe8d1c996d630e732!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOk0yNU8xaXoySVJlN2RNa2V5ODFZdWc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ We had a kitchen, dining/living room and hallway renovation led by Gove.
