## The honest read

Grady Property Services describes itself as a landscaping company founded in Southern Maine, working for homes and businesses. Its website lists a service area of Portland, South Portland, Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, Westbrook and Falmouth.

One customer has used the company for several years, starting with fall and spring cleanup and leaf removal, then adding lawn care. That customer says the team dethatched large areas of the lawn, removed vines overtaking the property and trimmed small tree limbs and bushes.

A customer who hired them for a spring cleanup praised the quality and timeliness and said they would use them again. A customer on a separate project said they were thorough from the first contact through completion and collaborated throughout.

One recent customer who hired the company for work on their property said the project ended in a dispute that took significant additional expense, time and effort to resolve, and that the matter has since been settled. That customer said communication and the handling of concerns after the work did not meet expectations, and advised getting the full scope of work, costs and the process for addressing problems in writing before work begins.

**Strengths:**
- Seasonal cleanups — a customer used them for fall and spring cleanups for years
- Lawn dethatching — a customer said the team dethatched large lawn areas
- Project collaboration — a customer said they collaborated throughout the project

**Concerns:**
- A post-job dispute — a customer said a project ended in a costly, now-settled dispute
- Written scope — a customer advised documenting scope and costs before work begins
