They hired the company just under two years before that review, were told to expect results the second season, and said the result far exceeded their expectations even with no irrigation and sandy dirt. The company says on its website that it has been around for over 25 years and specializes in lawn care, property maintenance, hardscaping and patio pavers. The towns it lists are Danbury, New Milford, Bethel, Sherman, Ridgefield, Newtown, Brookfield and New Fairfield. Google shows 4.7 stars from 23 ratings. A 2025 customer who started three years earlier with large bare spots said Grass Roots gave a realistic timeline with a conservative budget, and that the lawn was now thick enough for the mower to leave stripes. A 2024 customer of over 15 years said they handled the yearly lawn fertilization program, tested the soil annually, and came back to re-do reseeding when the seed didn't take. A 2024 customer said they hired the company to apply goose repellent spray and the goose problem disappeared after a few weeks. A 2024 customer said they had not had issues with ticks since starting tick control with Grass Roots. A 2023 customer of 30 years said the work began with annual lawn management and grew to driveway and pool patio paving, grass mowing, snow plowing, and hedge, bush and ivy trimming. A 2023 customer described choosing the design and color for a walkway to the front door with the company and said they were happy with the outcome. A 2023 customer named John as the owner and said he was responsive. A 2024 customer said the company sprayed their lawn without approval and would not call back to say what was used, and that they locked their dog in the house for fear of poisoning. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0579416, as active, held by Grass Roots Inc. **Strengths:** - Weedy lawn recovery — a 2025 customer described a lawn that was 90% weeds - A realistic timeline — a 2025 customer said they got a realistic timeline and budget - Reseeding redone — a 2024 customer said they re-did reseeding when seed didn't take - Tick control — a 2024 customer reported no tick issues since starting service **Concerns:** - Unapproved spraying — a 2024 customer said their lawn was sprayed without approval - No callback — a 2024 customer said they would not say what was sprayed ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Says it has been around for over 25 years and specializes in lawn care, property maintenance, hardscaping and patio pavers _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://grass-rootsinc.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Has it been a while since a landscaping company has come out to take a look at your lawn?
