Last 6 months: 1 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Great Harbors Home Services is a Falmouth design-build outfit that launched in 2023, when owner Joshua Carajanes turned the experience of renovating his late grandmother's home into a full-time business — the name comes from the Great Harbors neighborhood where that first project happened. Homeowners call him for a wide range of work: full kitchen and bathroom remodels, decks, basement finishes, roofing, siding, windows, and smaller jobs like a gas fireplace hookup or a plumbing fix. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active on the state registry, and the company has been named a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite in both 2024 and 2025. Josh manages projects directly, and reviewers consistently point to his own involvement — walking clients through design choices, staying communicative through the job, and bringing in his crew (John and Alan get named more than once) or vetted subcontractors for specialty work like a two-bathroom renovation. In a December 2025 review, one homeowner said Great Harbors stepped in after enduring a botched job from another contractor for almost a year; Josh came out, gave a reasonable estimate, and fixed the earlier mistakes. Other 2025 reviews describe a full kitchen remodel for first-time homeowners, a full exterior overhaul covering siding, windows, and basement demo, and a plumbing fix turned around within a day. All 21 reviews on file since the company started collecting them in 2025 are five stars, with none negative. There isn't much to flag here — this is a young company, formed in 2023 with reviews only from 2025 onward, so there isn't years of history behind it yet. What's there, though, is consistent and detailed across a wide range of job types. This is a strong call for a Cape Cod remodel of almost any size — kitchen, bath, deck, or a full exterior overhaul — especially if you want one person managing the whole project directly. Given how new the company is, ask for a couple of recent client references directly before committing to a larger job. **Strengths:** - Hands-on owner — reviewers say Josh personally manages design and communication - Fixes others' mistakes — stepped in on a botched prior job in 2025 - Wide range of work — kitchens, baths, decks, siding, roofing, and more **Concerns:** - New company — formed in 2023, with reviews only from 2025 onward ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active on the state registry _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://contractorhub.mass.gov/s/hic-contractor-search) — “MA hic license 209370 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: Great Harbors Home Services LLC” - Founded in 2023 by owner Joshua Carajanes after renovating his late grandmother's home in 2020; family-owned, self-reporting 3 years in business _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://greatharborshomeservices.com) — “Company history (self-reported): Officially launched in 2023 by Joshua Carajanes after he bought and renovated his late grandmother's home i…” - [Official Website](https://greatharborshomeservices.com) — “Ownership (self-reported): Owner-operated by Joshua Carajanes, who manages projects directly” - [Official Website](https://greatharborshomeservices.com) — “Self-reported 3 years in business” - Named a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite in both 2024 and 2025 _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://greatharborshomeservices.com) — “Stated certification/affiliation: Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite 2024” - [Official Website](https://greatharborshomeservices.com) — “Stated certification/affiliation: Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite 2025” - Reviewers describe the owner personally walking clients through design decisions and staying communicative throughout the job _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VKRE45NVhJak5MRmhnRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x2a51136f799eb2a7!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEJDN95XIjNLFhgE%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ Josh is terrific to work with.
