## The honest read

Great Roofing & Construction is a roofing company that, by its own description on BBB, also takes on gutters, siding, chimney work, windows and demolition. It says it has been in business 20 years, and its website lists a service area that includes Thomaston, Waterbury, Meriden, Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport and Stamford. BBB grades it A+ and lists it as accredited.

A recent customer said a problem roof was taken care of within 2 days of onsite work, scheduled when it suited them. In a 2025 review, a customer described the day of a reroof: Fernando and his team arrived at 7:30 a.m., protected the home with plastic tarps, put up ladders and began removing the shingles, and the job was completed by 5:00 p.m. That 2025 customer said Fernando repaired a leaking gutter while on site, and that the crew cleaned the yard and put the plants and birdfeeders back where they had been.

A 2025 customer said the team replaced their roof and gutters and completed the job faster than expected. A 2025 customer who had been burned by other contractors on a gutter job said Josh, Fernando and their crew showed up when they said they would, at a fair, competitive price. A 2026 customer said the company took care of winter storm damage inside and out, and the ceiling looked like nothing ever happened. A 2026 customer said Josh, the sales manager, spent two hours explaining the options and was able to get a fair price. A 2025 customer said the company helped walk them through the insurance process.

**Strengths:**
- A one-day reroof — a 2025 customer said it finished by 5:00 that afternoon
- Storm damage repair — a 2026 customer said interior and exterior damage was handled
- Insurance help — a 2025 customer was walked through the insurance process
- A clean yard — a 2025 customer said plants and birdfeeders were put back
