Last 6 months: 1 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read An April 2026 Google reviewer wanted a cedar fence that would not look rickety in 7, 8, or 10 years, and wrote a detailed account of what Greenwich Wood Products built: a gate from 2x4 cedar with a half-inch-plus lattice sandwich, ball-bearing strap hinges, and galvanized posts cemented in the ground inside replaceable cedar sleeves. Mike suggested a group text with the customer's own contractor from day one, and the reviewer said the job came in better than expected on cost. Its Houzz profile says the company started in 2002 in West Greenwich, RI as a decorative and custom wood and metal fence company and has since expanded into exterior and interior millwork. It is based in Jamestown, RI and also sells cedar and lumber. A Newport newspaper credits the fence in a Newport backyard renovation to Mike Hendershot of Greenwich Wood Products. It holds 5★ from 14 ratings on Google. Its Rhode Island home improvement contractor registration, GC-24483, is active. Another April 2026 Google customer had a cedar and Ipe second-story deck built over a cedar lower deck in Providence, with enclosed storage, benches, a pergola and a replaced fence. In an October 2025 review, a customer described an Alaskan yellow-cedar moon-gate and fence designed, built and installed by Michael, Jeff and the team. Lumber customers write in too: in a March 2026 review, a Connecticut couple said Mike recommended the right wood and finish for a cedar potting bench. A 2021 Houzz reviewer said a fence job on rocky ground with hidden ledge took the crew twice as long as anticipated, and they saw it through without excuses. **Strengths:** - Built gates — 2026 cedar gate with lattice core and strap hinges - Custom builds — 2025 yellow-cedar moon-gate and fence - Works with others — 2026 group text with the customer's contractor ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Rhode Island home improvement contractor registration GC-24483 is active _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://crb.ri.gov/search/contractor-search) — “RI hic license GC-24483 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: GREENWICH WOOD PRODUCTS” - 5★ from 14 ratings on Google _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Greenwich%20Wood%20Products&query_place_id=ChIJBz588ChK5IkR-ywsRcfwpPg) — “Google: 5★ from 14 ratings” - Its Houzz profile says it started in 2002 as a custom wood and metal fence company _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/fencing-and-gate-sales-and-construction/greenwich-wood-products-pfvwus-pf~2114746868) — “About (Houzz profile, the business's own statement): Greenwich Wood Products was founded in 2002 by Michael Hendershot in West Greenwich, RI…” - A 2026 customer detailed a cedar gate, heavy hinges and sleeved galvanized posts on a fence that came in better than expected on cost _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2pJdFZFdENaVFZKU0haQ1RHUjVjbE5RVEdSVmMwRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xf8a4f0c7452c2cfb!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOjItVEtCZTVJSHZCTGR5clNQTGRVc0E%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ This is an easy review for me because it’s all about quality—and getting real quality installed at your home is difficult in today’s mark…” - A 2026 customer had a two-level cedar and Ipe deck, pergola and fence built _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xjeFVUa3haazFIWkZFMFUyTlZOMEoyTlhaRFJYYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xf8a4f0c7452c2cfb!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOlcxUTkxZk1HZFE0U2NVN0J2NXZDRXc%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ The GWP team did an amazing professional job on a complex deck and fencing project at our home in Providence.
