## The honest read

Guardian Fuel & Energy Systems delivers home heating oil, and its website takes orders online and describes the oil it delivers as BIOHEAT brand. A pbn.com article has described the Westerly-based company as one of a small handful of Rhode Island oil dealers offering bioheating oil. The company's website lists a service area that includes Westerly, Charlestown, Hopkinton, Richmond, Stonington and New London, and says it has been in business 33 years.

A 2026 customer who said they had used the company for five years wrote that an oil delivery did not arrive on its scheduled date, that each call brought a different excuse, and that they were finally told the truck had broken down. That 2026 customer said they cancelled the order, asked for a refund, and had another company deliver the next morning.

**Concerns:**
- A missed oil delivery — a 2026 customer cancelled after days of excuses
