HandyWorks Remodeling & Design's own site lists kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, walk-in showers, tub-to-shower conversions and home additions, with a stated service area that includes Wallingford, Meriden, Middletown and North Haven. On Google it holds 4.8 stars from 96 ratings, and its BBB page shows an A+ grade and accreditation. A 2024 customer said the company replaced a leaking, curbless tiled shower floor with a Swanstone shower pan, rerouting plumbing as needed, and that Ricardo cut and Dylan set narrow tiles to bridge the gap to the bathroom floor. A 2025 customer described a half-bath converted to a full bath, with carpentry, plumbing, electrical and duct-work involved and permits pulled. A 2026 customer said a full bathroom remodel was finished in a little over two weeks and that everything was covered in plastic before the job started. A 2025 customer said HRD took down walls, did a complete kitchen remodel and added new flooring and HVAC, finishing within the quoted timeline of six to eight weeks. In a 2025 review, a customer described a load-bearing wall removed between the kitchen and dining room, with recessed lighting, new cabinets and new ductwork to vent a range hood, and said the cost was more than they had initially intended to spend. A recent customer said they went with HRD for a full roof replacement on a newly purchased home. A recent customer said the company called them from a lead generator's list, asked about a budget right away, and said it would not come out if the customer was concerned about money. A 2025 customer said they were quoted $15k to $20k for a kitchen job without anyone coming out to look at it. In a long 2025 review, a customer said misaligned tiles had to be redone, the countertop sagged near the dishwasher until Keith added a bracket, and part of the floor was built up with leveler without their consent. A 2022 customer said the workers did a good job but management misled them, and that the local building inspector had to step in over a major electrical problem. **Strengths:** - Full bathroom remodel — a 2026 customer said it finished in a little over two weeks - Covered work area — a 2026 customer said everything was covered in plastic first - Quoted timeline met — a 2025 customer's remodel finished within six to eight weeks **Concerns:** - Budget screening call — a recent customer said they would not come out - Tile and countertop rework — a 2025 customer said both needed fixing - Quote without a visit — a 2025 customer was quoted $15k to $20k sight unseen ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.8 stars from 96 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=HandyWorks%20Remodeling%20%26%20Design&query_place_id=ChIJ92tMXhvO54kRn_OZuhL0TIQ) — “Google: 4.8★ from 96 ratings” - BBB page shows an A+ grade and accreditation _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/wallingford/profile/home-improvement/handyworks-remodeling-and-design-0111-87050427) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/wallingford/profile/home-improvement/handyworks-remodeling-and-design-0111-87050427) — “Better Business Bureau: accredited / certified / member” - Its own site lists kitchen and bathroom remodeling, walk-in showers, tub-to-shower conversions and home additions _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://hr-di.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Our ServicesKitchen RemodelingCustom Kitchen CabinetsKitchen IslandsKitchen CountertopsBathroom RemodelingW…” - Stated service area includes Wallingford, Meriden, Middletown and North Haven _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://hr-di.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Cheshire, Cromwell, Durham, Wallingford, Meriden, Middlefield, Middletown, North Haven, Rocky Hill, Sou…” - A 2026 customer said HRD installed a walk-in shower for the reviewer's 106-year-old grandmother _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2pKWFpHTmtjMnhIT1ZwSFVWRldNM2xYVUhFNVZYYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x844cf412ba99f39f!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOjJXZGNkc2xHOVpHUVFWM3lXUHE5VXc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ HRD just finished up an installation of a walk in shower for my 106 year old grandmother.
