## The honest read

Hardscapes Landscaping LLC lists outdoor work on its website, from patios, retaining walls, walkways and yard drainage to fire pits, pergolas and custom design and build, and says it has been in business 22 years. A recent customer calls Rob and his team polite, on time and easy to work with.

A 2025 customer said the crew removed and rebuilt two wooden retaining walls for their gardens, for a reasonable price. A 2024 customer said the company had done their lawn and fall cleanups for a few years. In a 2024 review, a customer said they mowed and trimmed the lawn each week and did a fall leaf cleanup.

A 2023 customer said the lawn cutting started well, with the grass cut at the right height. That customer said the company then never came back to the property, and that Rob never showed up after drawing up proposals for plantings. After a month without hearing back, the 2023 customer said they hired a new company and were charged double because the lawn was so high. In 2022, a reviewer called the company unethical and said it didn't pay its vendors for products already received.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0638839, as active, held by Hardscapes Landscaping LLC.

**Strengths:**
- A retaining wall rebuild — a 2025 customer said two wooden walls were rebuilt
- Weekly lawn mowing — a 2024 customer said they mowed and trimmed each week

**Concerns:**
- A missed return — a 2023 customer said the company never came back
- Vendor payment — a 2022 reviewer said the company didn't pay its vendors
