The company says it has been in business 33 years. In a 2025 review, a customer said HB had handled their oil and propane delivery as well as service and inspection of equipment over years. In a 2025 review, a customer wrote that their parents had received hundreds of gallons of oil, full propane tanks, and boiler, water heater and plumbing service. A recent customer said the crew installed a propane fireplace unit, covered the wood floors, vacuumed when finished and arrived right on time. A recent customer said they had hired HB for a fuel burner install, removal of an old burner, heater installation and smaller plumbing work. A 2025 customer who had moved to Chester said that when pipes burst under the house, HB came right out and worked on it for three or four days until it was fixed. In a 2025 review, a customer said Brian called back fast after a late-night problem with an expansion tank and sent a team the next day to replace it. A 2024 customer said HB was the only company to call back about a pellet stove and sent Brian that day to clean it out. A recent customer said the company refused service at their home because of a situation at their workplace. A recent customer said a young worker fell partway through the attic ceiling and a new electric hot water tank leaked, which HB came out and fixed immediately at no charge. That customer also said promised cash rewards were not deducted from the bill and a wood stove quote was still missing after more than six weeks and many emails. A 2026 customer said there was no real free estimate and no help unless they paid to be told the burner they wanted replaced was broken. In a 2025 review, a customer whose hot water heater went out was told Brian in equipment sales was on vacation for two weeks and went to Home Depot in Keene instead. A 2026 customer said a rooftop solar project brought poor communication and a surprise charge from the power company, then raised the rating to 4 after a long talk with the owner. In an October 2025 r/vermont thread, a poster wrote that HB felt like a letdown, that communication was awful, and told others not to use HB Energy. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade, and Google shows 4.4 stars from 100 ratings. **Strengths:** - Oil and propane delivery — a 2025 customer named both alongside equipment service - Burst pipe repair — a 2025 customer said they worked three or four days - Pellet stove cleaning — a 2024 customer said Brian came that same day - A careful fireplace install — a recent customer said the crew covered the floors **Concerns:** - Quote delays — a recent customer still had no wood stove quote - Refused service — a recent customer was turned away over a workplace situation - Billing credit — a recent customer said cash rewards were not deducted - Estimate follow-up — a 2024 customer never received a written tub estimate - Poor communication — an October 2025 Reddit poster called it awful ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.4 stars from 100 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=HB%20Energy%20Solutions&query_place_id=ChIJ66B0DQi54YkRzaBubWFHdG4) — “Google: 4.4★ from 100 ratings” - BBB grade A+, accredited _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/vt/springfield/profile/fuel-oil/hb-energy-solutions-inc-0021-25869) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/vt/springfield/profile/fuel-oil/hb-energy-solutions-inc-0021-25869) — “Better Business Bureau: accredited / certified / member” - Describes itself as providing fuel delivery plus heating, plumbing, air conditioning and electrical services _(confidence: medium)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/vt/springfield/profile/fuel-oil/hb-energy-solutions-inc-0021-25869) — “About (Better Business Bureau, self-described): HB Energy Solutions provides fuel delivery and home and commercial HVAC and electric service…” - Self-reported 33 years in business _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.hbenergy.com) — “Self-reported 33 years in business” - A 2025 customer said HB handled their oil and propane delivery plus equipment service over years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2toTVNEQTFTbVJLWDNOWWMyZHZaV3QyTWxKalVIYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x6e7447616d6ea0cd!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkhMSDA1SmRKX3NYc2dvZWt2MlJjUHc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ They have been a pleasure to do business with over years.
