## The honest read

A recent customer said Hellas Air Temp installed their new heating system in one day and answered any questions along the way. The company describes itself as a residential and commercial heating and cooling business handling sales, service, maintenance and installation, and says it has been in business 48 years. On Google it holds 4.8 stars from 608 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+.

A recent customer said the company gives the exact time window they request, then shows up on time and works quietly. A recent customer with a 07-30 appointment said the service person arrived on time and prepared, and when something unexpected was found, he had the tools in his vehicle and it was fixed in no time. A recent customer needed quick furnace repairs and said they were done fast at a reasonable price. A recent customer said Hellas installed their heating and air conditioning system when they built their home 20 years ago and has maintained it since.

A 2024 customer said Hellas installed a new A/C unit in less than a day in the middle of a heat wave. A 2024 customer described a retrofit of an entire HVAC system into a remodel. In a 2025 review, a customer said the company responded to an urgent house call within a few hours.

A recent customer called because the heat was not working; the technician came promptly but did not have the igniter on the truck, so the boiler waited while he ordered the part. A recent customer with a maintenance contract said the A/C fix itself was simple, but the invoice came in higher than expected, was not itemized, and the explanation from management still did not add up for them.

In a 2025 review, a customer said that within 3 years of a Carrier central unit installation costing over $18k, there was a fire where the main line connects to the new unit's line. That 2025 customer was billed around $526 for two hours and parts on the repair, and noted the company provides only a 1 year installation warranty. In a 2024 review, a property manager said Hellas charged $189 for a diagnostic, later charged their credit card $321, and sent a $494 invoice for a thermostat replacement they said had no valid reason.

Connecticut lists an active S1 heating and cooling licence, HTG.0406086-S1, held by Hellas Air Temp Inc.

- Diagnostic and thermostat charges — a 2024 property manager disputed a $494 thermostat invoice
