On Thumbtack, the company says it was founded in 2017 in Danbury. A recent customer said Pablo and his family replaced an old wood deck with a new Trex composite deck, kept them updated throughout, and came out on a Saturday to finish on schedule. A 2025 customer said the team built a new deck, replaced doors and built outdoor bluestone stairs, but that permitting and building-code issues led to delays and unexpected costs, and the overall cost ended up higher than quoted. A 2024 customer said the crew worked 10-hour days to replace a deck more than 20 years old and that the owner stopped by frequently to check progress. A 2024 customer said the company did a small paving job in their backyard and liked the detailed quote. A 2023 customer said Pablo and his son built a new 30 X 40 brick patio outside their office and a brick patio around their pool at home, working through light rain showers. A 2022 customer on Thumbtack said a retaining wall, stairs and a pathway were built to stop their hill from eroding while keeping it accessible. A 2022 customer said Pablo renovated their bathroom and built a shower. A 2022 customer who hired the company for a bathroom remodel said a 16-inch tub arrived in place of the 19-inch soaker tub that was quoted, the paint was sloppy, the door was bent, the grout cracked, and the basement leak the project was meant to fix came back after two showers; they received a $700 discount on an almost $12,000 project. **Strengths:** - A composite deck replacement — a recent customer said it finished on schedule - Long work days — a 2024 customer said the crew worked 10-hour days - Brick patios — a 2023 customer said two were built, one around a pool - A hillside retaining wall — a 2022 customer said it stopped their hill eroding **Concerns:** - Costs above the quote — a 2025 customer cited permitting and code changes - A bathroom remodel leak — a 2022 customer said the basement leak came back ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Describes residential improvements and commercial construction across Connecticut on its website _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.helpyconstruction.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Residential improvements and commercial construction services across Connecticut—from remodeling and roofin…” - A recent customer said a Trex composite deck replacement was finished on schedule, with work on a Saturday _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25vNFgyeHVkbU5WV1dSWFUzbEdabTEzZVVacE4yYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x500d2590509ee258!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOno4X2xudmNVWWRXU3lGZm13eUZpN2c%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ I hired Helpy Construction to replace my old wood deck with a new Trex composite deck, and I’m very happy with how everything turned out.…” - A 2024 customer said the crew worked 10-hour days to replace a deck more than 20 years old _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChZDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSUNEcThlOGZREAE!2m1!1s0x0:0x500d2590509ee258!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgICDq8e8fQ%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “4★ We hired Helpy Construction to replace our 20+ year old deck.
