Its website lists Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Williston and Lowell as its service area. A recent Google customer said Heritage came, looked and estimated, and the finished job came to half the cost of the estimate. A recent customer got a quote right away for slate roof repair and said the work was done when they said it would be. A recent reviewer who called the job a logistical nightmare said it was still completed on time; that customer said possible hidden costs were discussed beforehand and that he kept them updated with pictures and phone calls while they were off site. The work is not only roofs. A recent customer said Bill and his crew did a complete interior renovation at their place in Jay, including a hardwood floor, a bathroom renovation, tile and a complete paint job. In a 2024 review, a customer said Bill and his team installed a cupola on their roof, a job that customer called very technical, and came when they said they would. In a March 2026 r/vermont thread, a commenter said they would not recommend Heritage Slate out of Lowell, writing that it did a hack job on their roof that took almost two months. **Strengths:** - Final bill under estimate — a recent customer paid half the estimated cost - A quick repair quote — a recent customer got a slate repair quote right away - Progress photos — a recent customer got pictures and calls while off site **Concerns:** - Roof complaint — a 2026 Reddit commenter called the roof work a hack job ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Describes itself as offering slate roof installation, replacement, repair and maintenance to Northern Vermont homes with a 1-year workmanship warranty _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://heritageslating.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Heritage Slating delivers premium slate roof installation, replacement, repair, and maintenance to Northern…” - Its website lists Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Williston and Lowell as its service area _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://heritageslating.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Williston, Lowell” - 5 stars from 11 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Heritage%20Slate&query_place_id=ChIJ3zBAlvfftUwRTpTcU1rjLLM) — “Google: 5★ from 11 ratings” - Slate roof repair and maintenance _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT21sVlowaGtNV0YzYVVFelFtRlZNbWxmUlhBemNVRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xb32ce35a53dc944e!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOmlVZ0hkMWF3aUEzQmFVMmlfRXAzcUE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Heritage Slate is a fantastic company.
