A 2023 Google customer said Jason talked them through the options and adjusted the schedule when unexpected problems came up during a kitchen refresh. That 2023 customer said James and Kevin were meticulous with the installation in an unlevel, unplumb, unsquare space, and that Jason's team brought the project in on time and on budget. The same 2023 customer said Jason's crew had done exterior repairs on the home a few years earlier. In a 2019 review, a customer whose Portland duplex was built between 1900 and 1920 said both dormers and the chimney were, quite literally, falling off, and that Jason delivered the bad news with as much sympathy as possible. That 2019 customer said they scaled back part of their wish list, including a heated floor. A 2019 customer said they first hired the company for a complete kitchen renovation, then retained it to replace two exterior doors and to tear down an old deck and replace it. That 2019 customer said Jason was always on site to oversee the work performed by his crew. A 2019 customer described gutting the upstairs and adding a dormer, and said Jason was responsive via email and phone. On a 2019 repair project, a customer said Jason gave a fair quote, started on the agreed date, and that the crew made sure the job site was cleaned up after each day. A 2019 customer described an addition the company was building that included a new garage, a laundry room and an expanded mudroom. A 2020 reviewer said the project was an ocean-front guest house in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. **Strengths:** - On time and budget — a 2023 customer said a kitchen refresh came in on both - Jason on site — a 2019 customer said he oversaw his crew's work - Daily cleanup — a 2019 customer said the job site was cleaned each day ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Rated 5.0 on Houzz from 10 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/home-builders/holden-building-and-carpentry-pfvwus-pf~1798906554) — “Houzz: 5.0★ from 10 ratings” - Describes itself as a building and carpentry company with over 20 years of experience _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/home-builders/holden-building-and-carpentry-pfvwus-pf~1798906554) — “About (Houzz profile, the business's own statement): Holden Building and Carpentry would love the opportunity to show you what experience an…” - A 2023 customer said Jason's team brought a kitchen refresh in on time and on budget _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChZDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSURKMTZ6ZWNBEAE!2m1!1s0x0:0x73415782882aeb1!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgIDJ16zecA%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ Jason et al did a terrific job on my recent kitchen refresh.
