Last 6 months: 2 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Home Comfort Practice does energy audits, air sealing, duct sealing, thermostats and windows, and holds a 4.9-star Google rating from 1,228 ratings. Its own site lists a service area that runs from Stratford and Bridgeport to Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury and Danbury, and the company says it has been in business 17 years. One recent customer had Kenneth and Benito do a thorough inspection of the house from top to bottom; while there, they installed energy-efficient faucet aerators and shower heads and found some mold that needs to be remediated. Bernie later came over and installed new WiFi thermostats. A 2026 customer said the replacement windows looked great and there was no more draft. A 2023 customer said they did a heating system safety check, blower door test, air sealing, LED lighting and duct sealing at no cost, and set an appointment to come back for insulation. Heating and cooling work comes with a mixed story. A recent customer described a controller installed in November 2025 that was a mess, with wires everywhere, and an AC compressor that wouldn't work. After a call to HCP, Kevin and Abdul arrived early the next morning, rewired the controller, replaced one part and ordered another that had burned out because of the previous work. A 2025 Reddit commenter from Wolcott wrote that the company had done their boiler and hot water heater the year before, and an energy audit before that, and called Hector polite. That 2025 commenter also wrote that they "did kind of ruin part of my stairs going into my basement." Its BBB page carries an A+ grade. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0644515, as active, held by Home Comfort Practice Inc. **Strengths:** - Next-morning return — Kevin and Abdul rewired the controller early the next morning - Window replacement — a 2026 customer said there was no more draft - Top-to-bottom inspection — a recent customer had aerators and shower heads installed **Concerns:** - Controller install — a recent customer found wires everywhere, compressor not working - Basement stairs — a 2025 Reddit commenter said part was kind of ruined ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.9-star Google rating from 1,228 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Home%20Comfort%20Practice%2C%20Inc.&query_place_id=ChIJT_69j68N6IkRCmFtyLZkskA) — “Google: 4.9★ from 1228 ratings” - The company's site lists a service area including Stratford, Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury and Danbury _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.homecomfortpractice.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Stratford, Benton, Hartford, Norwich, Wallingford, Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, West Hartford, Fair…” - The company says it has been in business 17 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.homecomfortpractice.com) — “Self-reported 17 years in business” - A recent customer said Kenneth and Benito did a thorough top-to-bottom inspection and installed faucet aerators and shower heads, and Bernie later installed WiFi thermostats _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xSV2JqQlVURE5mY1ZaTGJsTlJjUzFCVFdaTU1sRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x40b264b6c86d610a!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOlRWbjBUTDNfcVZLblNRcS1BTWZMMlE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Home Comfort Practice has been so wonderful to work with on energy saving home improvements.
