## The honest read

HPA Service delivers heating oil and also does heating and plumbing work. A recent customer who had furnace service from HPA said they became oil delivery customers and praised the timely delivery. A 2026 customer said ordering was easy online and delivery came within 48 hours.

Its website lists oil boilers, oil tank installation, furnace services, heat pumps, gas boiler installation and plumbing, with a stated service area that includes Augusta, Gardiner, Waterville and Hallowell. The BBB grades the company A+.

On the heating side, a recent customer who returned to a summer home with no hot water said HPA sent Mike out that very afternoon and he had the parts to fix the furnace. A recent customer said they have used HPA for 3 years for maintenance and repair on an older furnace and AC. A 2025 customer said HPA installed a new oil tank despite major basement obstacles, ahead of schedule. A 2025 customer said HPA installed ductless heat pumps and a new gas boiler system in their 67 year old house, and that the owner, Caleb Chadbourne, came out to introduce his workers at the start and came back at the end to check on the installation. A 2025 customer whose daughter's furnace stopped working said Devryn met them at the house and, after a few hours of work, revived an old burner.

A recent customer said they came out and fixed a bad wax seal on a toilet in less than 2 hours after the phone call. A 2025 customer said HPA removed old cast iron pipes and came back a second time to fix a mistake due to a miscommunication.

A 2025 customer who had HPA tour the home for a heat pump quote said they did not hear back for over a month, heard from the owner after posting a first review, and were still waiting on backordered parts.

**Strengths:**
- Online oil ordering — a 2026 customer had delivery within 48 hours
- A same-day furnace fix — a recent customer had Mike out that afternoon
