Last 6 months: 2 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read A recent customer had HQ Landscaping build a stone wall that runs approximately 160 feet and said the results still look great more than a decade later. That customer has since had them back for a walkway, flower beds and, most recently, a patio with a firepit, and said Kurt and his son are hard-working. The company says it serves Southington, Bristol and surrounding towns, and it offers free estimates. A recent customer said HQ Landscaping worked at their home twice, each time coming by first to talk through the project and give a reasonable quote. A 2025 customer who started with Kurt Sr said the company is now in the hands of his son. That 2025 customer called with a time-sensitive job for a very ill family member who wanted to spend time in her garden, and said Kurt made it his next job and did the entire job on a Sunday. A 2025 customer said Mr. Holyst turned a backyard that was essentially dead and covered with debris into an area of grass for their dogs, and communicated by text or email while that customer was out of state. A 2025 customer said they tackled an entire front yard transformation quickly. A 2025 customer who had worked with KJ for 10 years described trimming 20 foot hedges, planting arborvitaes, flower gardens and installing a custom patio. In a 2025 review, a customer said Kurt and team did major clean up on overgrown areas with very mature trees and uncovered a stone path. A 2024 customer said the company removed an old, crooked garden border, replaced it with granite and followed with mulch. A 2024 customer said they asked for several appointments and the company never showed up. **Strengths:** - Stone wall build — a recent customer's 160-foot wall still looks great - A reasonable quote — a recent customer was quoted after a project talk-through - A Sunday garden job — a 2025 customer said Kurt did it on a Sunday **Concerns:** - A no-show complaint — a 2024 customer said they never showed up **Where sources disagree:** - The company's own website says both that it has served the area for over 30 years and that it has been in business 16 years. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.7 stars from 21 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=HQ%20Landscaping%20LLC&query_place_id=ChIJQR4egvG354kRMHwDIGZ5SDE) — “Google: 4.7★ from 21 ratings” - A recent customer said HQ Landscaping built a stone wall of approximately 160 feet, then a walkway, flower beds and a patio with a firepit _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2pBMGFVdzVhWE5aYjJOelFuQm5RVzFFYzFkQmRHYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x3148796620037c30!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOjA0aUw5aXNZb2NzQnBnQW1Ec1dBdGc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ HQ Landscaping is great.
