## The honest read

Interstate Waste Services is a waste and recycling company at 307 White St in Danbury, CT. Its website lists commercial waste and recycling, construction and demolition debris, organics recycling and container sizes, and lists 24/7 emergency service. Reviewers describe it as the company that took over Oak Ridge Waste and Recycling.

Google shows 3.3★ from 492 ratings.

The praise centers on dumpster rentals and named staff. Customers renting dumpsters name Vincent, also called Vince, as responsive and professional, and a 2025 homeowner who rented a 30 yd dumpster writes that the drop-off and pick-up dates were well communicated. Others name Tom Devlin for dumpster service at reasonable rates and Jadd for handling questions and concerns. A commercial customer in Bethel writes that sign-up was easy, pickups were on schedule and drivers left no mess. Reviews from January 2023 praise on-time residential trash and recycling pickup and notice when holidays or weather change the schedule.

The complaints center on residential pickup and billing. Customers describe garbage left for days or weeks, calls where they were told the truck was coming and it did not, and a canceled customer whose company bins were still not collected over a month later. Billing complaints describe payments not credited, a $150 charge after cancellation that was not refunded, monthly bills above a signed contract rate, and price increases after the change from Oak Ridge. A 2023 customer quoted $600 for a container writes that another $500 was billed for going over tonnage. Another 2024 reviewer was turned away at the facility after calling twice to confirm, and describes the scale house attendant as rude.

**Strengths:**
- Dumpster rentals — customers name Vincent as responsive and professional
- Commercial pickup — a Bethel customer writes that pickups were on schedule with no mess

**Concerns:**
- Missed pickups — garbage left for days or weeks after promises the truck was coming
- Billing — payments not credited, a post-cancellation charge not refunded, bills above a contract rate
