Ironflue Chimney Sweep & Fireplace Care says it has been in business 15 years, and its website lists chimney replacement, chimney cap replacement, damper repair and chimney inspections, with a stated service area that runs from New London and Norwich to Stamford, Greenwich, Hartford, Litchfield and New Haven. One customer said Sam came out to estimate a chimney cleaning, found the chimney in pretty bad shape and advised a liner install, with the work scheduled within a week; that customer was happy with the work from the liner install to the repointing of the chimney. A customer said the guys came out the day after the inspection for the repair and got the entire chimney replaced before the next rain that evening. A customer said Michael put up a chimney cap and cleaned the fireplace. A customer who booked an inspection said the chimney needed cleaning and was cleaned the same day, with no mess. A customer who expected a quick inspection said Sam walked through every nook, crack and issue he found and explained what needed immediate attention and what could wait. A customer new to owning a fireplace said the company explained its recommendations and laid a liner over the couch to protect the home while working. A customer whose visit was from Sam wrote that it was "a bit more expensive, but definitely worth the price!" A customer said Mike could not arrive within the scheduled appointment but communicated in advance to arrange a later time. That customer also wrote that Ironflue has "some sort of subcontractor arrangement with Chimney Force", the company the customer called originally, and that more communication on who to expect for the inspection would help. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0705645, as active, held by Ironflue Chimney Sweep & Fireplace Care. **Strengths:** - Liner and repointing — a customer said the work was scheduled within a week - Same-day cleaning — a customer's inspection became a cleaning that day - Home protection — a customer said a liner went over the couch - Drone chimney photos — a customer said Mike shared drone pictures of the chimney - Next-day chimney replacement — a customer said it was done before the next rain **Concerns:** - Subcontractor arrangement — a customer described an arrangement with Chimney Force - A later arrival — a customer said Mike rescheduled in advance to a later time ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A customer said Sam advised a liner install and was happy with the work from the liner to the repointing of the chimney _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT201TlgyZ3RjbFZ1WkRCZk5UbDRMWEZmWld0blduYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xe43a81e16dcf1ba0!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOm5NX2gtclVuZDBfNTl4LXFfZWtnWnc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ These guys are great!!
