## The honest read

JC & G Tree Service Corp holds 4.9 stars from 246 Google ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. The company says it was founded by Juan Carlos, an arborist and forester raised in Costa Rica, and that it has been in business seven years.

A recent customer said Juan and his crew pruned and removed branches from four trees about 60 feet tall, and put plywood down on the lawn to protect it from the skid-steer used to remove the debris. A recent customer said Juan has been pruning and shaping their trees at least once a year for the past three or four years and gives advice on the trees' health needs. A recent customer said Juan talked them out of work that was not necessary, which saved them money and a healthy tree. A recent customer said they spent 11 hours cutting and trimming trees in the yard and removed all the debris.

A 2026 customer said they removed three large trees very close to surrounding houses with limited access. A 2023 customer said a four-man crew removed a tall three-trunk river birch whose roots were getting close to the house foundation, pruned a maple and cleaned up in 3 hours. A 2023 customer mentioned some language barriers, but said the company understood their needs and followed up with a detailed written quote by email. A 2022 customer said they removed a large poplar stump with its roots, along with three stumps from shrubs long gone.

**Strengths:**
- Lawn protection — a recent customer said plywood went down under the skid-steer
- No upselling — a recent customer said Juan talked them out of unneeded work
- Tight-access removal — a 2026 customer said three large trees came out near houses

**Concerns:**
- Language barriers — a 2023 customer noted some, but their needs were understood
