## The honest read

A broken furnace, and a $300 part thrown in for free: that is how one recent customer of JG Heating and Cooling LLC described the job. The Jay company works on furnaces, boilers, heat pumps and water heaters, and its website lists a service area that includes Auburn, Lewiston, Augusta, Waterville, Farmington, Rumford and Skowhegan.

The Maine state registry lists HVAC licence PNT13816 as active, with Joshua Mark Gray as the holder of record.

That recent furnace customer said JG came over quick, did not charge for diagnosing the issues and had everything fixed in under 2 hours on the day of the repair. A recent customer said Josh quoted a new Rinnai wall furnace from texted pictures, replaced it on time and on budget, and tested it afterward. A recent reviewer said the company installed whole-house mini split systems and completed everything on time. One recent customer whose heat pumps were not cooling said Josh came back the next day to recharge the system after a cleaning alone did not fix it, and stayed until they could feel the difference. A recent customer said their AC repair held up through a heat wave the following week.

A 2026 customer said Josh diagnosed a cracked heat exchanger and had a new Rinnai tankless water heater installed the same day. A 2026 reviewer said Josh installed a high-efficiency boiler for their parents, who saved over $700 on fuel in one year. A 2026 customer wrote that the company installed an emergency boiler during an extreme cold stretch and had heat and hot water restored within 10 hours.

**Strengths:**
- A free part — a recent customer got a $300 part for free
- Next-day heat pump fix — a recent customer said Josh returned to recharge the system
- Same-day water heater — a 2026 customer had a tankless unit installed that day
- Emergency boiler install — a 2026 customer had heat back within 10 hours
