The company says it has been at this work for more than 15 years and offers free estimates. Its written history on Houzz is a single 2017 review, and it is a hard one. That 2017 customer said they spent close to 8 weeks going back and forth with Jack on the design and stain of their cabinets, agreed to a price and turned down other bidders, and then Jack stopped answering calls, voicemails and texts. In 2017, that customer wrote that the office they expected to have built and installed was not done and they had to go back out for new bids. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0618033, as active, held by JJK Construction LLC. **Concerns:** - Communication on bids — a 2017 customer said Jack stopped answering calls and texts ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Describes itself as a family-owned custom woodworking company serving Fairfield County, focused on custom cabinetry, built-ins and fine woodworking _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://jjkwoodworkingllc.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): JJK Woodworking is a family-owned custom woodworking company proudly serving homeowners throughout Fairfiel…” - Says it has been in business for more than 15 years _(confidence: low)_ - [Official Website](https://jjkwoodworkingllc.com) — “Self-reported 15 years in business” - A 2017 Houzz customer said Jack stopped responding after about 8 weeks of cabinet design talks and an agreed price, leaving their office project behind schedule _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/cabinets-and-cabinetry/jjk-construction-pfvwus-pf~1830243009) — “1★ After spending close to 8 weeks going back and forth with Jack from JJK Construction regarding the design and stain of our cabinets - dur…” - Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0618033, as active, held by JJK Construction LLC. _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0618033 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: JJK CONSTRUCTION LLC” - Specializes in Carpentry _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://jjkwoodworkingllc.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): JJK Woodworking is a family-owned custom woodworking company proudly serving homeowners throughout Fairfiel…” ## Ownership - Identifies as family-owned — the business's own statement, not independently verified. ## License Status: **active** (#HIC.0618033, hic) — verified against the official CT state registry on 2026-10-19, never self-reported.
