Last 6 months: 12 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read A yellow jacket nest in a living room ceiling, an addition whose rotted footings left the room at risk of falling off the house, a whole-house renovation after a father's life there: the Google reviews of JJM Builders cover a lot of ground. The Milford general contractor says on its website that it serves the Greater New Haven and Fairfield County area, and two reviews name Josh, one of them as Josh Michels, as the owner. It has 67 Google ratings averaging 5 stars, plus six each on HomeAdvisor and Angi at 5.0, and 12 Google reviews in the last six months. The big jobs are recent. A July 2026 reviewer described a complete whole-house renovation of their father's home ahead of its sale, with Josh guiding it from beginning to end. Another July 2026 review says that after ice damming caused water damage, the crew renovated two bathrooms and turned former closets into a new primary bathroom with a walk-in shower, and that Josh worked with the homeowners insurance on the claim. A September 2026 review describes a main-floor master suite with a bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet, with Josh keeping the family up to date in real time whether the job was ahead of schedule or waiting on material. In October 2026, a customer wrote that the company finished a custom home they had bought unfinished, after Josh inspected the existing work and gave a detailed estimate. The smaller jobs read the same way. An August 2026 review describes a 28-inch interior door swapped for a 30-inch one at a very reasonable price, and two April 2026 reviews describe the ceiling repair after the yellow jackets, one noting that the crew sealed the entry points. Older reviews add a deck rebuilt in a 2025 review, a load-bearing wall removed between a living room and kitchen in November 2025, and a November 2025 account of a new roof, chimney, gutters, siding, deck and fencing plus refinished hardwood floors after a tree fell on a house. In an August 2025 review, the customer with the rotted footings said Josh came out on almost no notice and had a crew repairing it within a few days, then went on to replace windows and vinyl siding. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0612011, is active, held by JJM Builders LLC. Its BBB grade is an A+. Its written record on Google runs back to 2018. **Strengths:** - Whole-house renovations — several reviews describe full-home remodels - Updates during the job — recent reviews describe real-time communication - Insurance repairs — rebuilt after water damage and a fallen tree ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 67 Google ratings averaging 5 stars _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=JJM%20Builders%20LLC&query_place_id=ChIJy-BOTK906IkRKjuEAwbQAjw) — “Google: 5★ from 67 ratings” - 5.0 stars from six ratings each on HomeAdvisor and Angi _(confidence: high)_ - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ct/milford/jjm-builders-llc-reviews-1.htm) — “Angi: 5.0★ from 6 ratings” - [HomeAdvisor](https://www.homeadvisor.com/rated.JJMBuildersLLC.80421474.html) — “HomeAdvisor: 5.0★ from 6 ratings” - Connecticut home improvement contractor registration HIC.0612011 is active, held by JJM Builders LLC _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0612011 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: JJM BUILDERS LLC” - BBB grade of A+ _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/milford/profile/construction-services/jjm-builders-llc-0111-87125140) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - Josh Michels is named as the owner in customer reviews _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xKd1pqUnhkbTVNYm1SWFlYcFZOa3RFY1cxb2JIYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x3c02d00603843b2a!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOlJwZjRxdm5MbmRXYXpVNktEcW1obHc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ To quote my father’s philosophy that I heard many times growing up: “If a job is worth doing, do it once, and do it right.” I would like…” - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChZDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSUNieElELWZ3EAE!2m1!1s0x0:0x3c02d00603843b2a!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgICbxID-fw%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ A contractor you can trust!
