A recent customer said JLP completed their driveway the same day it gave an estimate to their parents' neighbors. With an open house coming, a recent customer said JLP started the job, then let them know they would return the next day when the forecast changed so rain would not hurt the finished product. That customer wrote that JLP may be a little higher priced than "the guy knocking on doors with a pickup." A recent customer with a driveway about 20 years old said JLP has sealed it for the past 6 or 7 years and made it look like new. A 2024 customer described the prep: edging the lawn where it meets the driveway, sweeping and blowing it clean, treating the crack with a special rubber, then sealcoating the whole driveway. A 2022 customer with brickwork along one side of the driveway said JLP made sure no overspray got on it. In 2022, a customer said they got a call back within the hour and an estimator who was already in the area arrived 15 minutes later; that 2022 customer said Jason and his crew cleaned and prepped the driveway without getting sealant on the door step or home. Some jobs went badly. A recent customer who had used JLP for years said Jason scheduled their work for the third week of November with temperatures between 20-25°F, and that the sealcoat never cured or adhered and began peeling during the first winter plowing. That customer says they are out $1,237.50 and that Jason is dodging their texts. A 2024 customer said the sealcoat wore off in a few spots after very light use and a call asking for a touch-up was never returned. A 2023 customer said the sealant did not last 8 months before it washed away and the company would not stand behind the job. A 2021 customer said the driveway and walkway were well done but plants along one side were covered; that customer said JLP agreed in writing to cover the cost of replacing the plants, then went silent. **Strengths:** - Careful prep — a 2024 customer described edging, sweeping and crack treatment - Weather-aware scheduling — a recent customer said they returned next day to avoid rain - No overspray — a 2022 customer said brickwork beside the driveway stayed clean **Concerns:** - Cold-weather job — a recent customer said a November job at 20-25°F peeled - Sealcoat wearing off — a 2024 customer said it wore off in spots - Unpaid plant costs — a 2021 customer said agreed costs were never paid ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - The company says it has been in business 25 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://jlpsealcoat.com) — “Self-reported 25 years in business” - A recent customer said JLP completed their driveway the same day it gave an estimate to their parents' neighbors _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2t0Q1F6aHVia2wzY1hkUlVGUTFVM2hhTjJodlpuYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x3e933adb44a9e116!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOktCQzhubkl3cXdRUFQ1U3haN2hvZnc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ My parents neighbors were getting their driveway done; JLP gave them an estimate and completed our driveway the same day.
