## The honest read

JMB Septic Service works out of 306 Falmouth Road in Hyannis and is the company Cape Cod homeowners call when a septic system fails at the worst possible moment. The owner, Josh, answers his own phone, and reviewers say so over and over.

The emergency record is the most striking thing about them. A customer whose tank alarm went off in the morning had Josh at the house within an hour, walking the property, checking inflow and outflow and adjusting the floats rather than selling a repair. Another was pumped at midnight in January. A third called on a Sunday afternoon with septic water washing into the basement after every other firm was booked with no trucks, and Josh picked up the phone himself. Holiday weekends, Friday evenings, after-hours calls returned within fifteen minutes - the pattern repeats across five years of accounts.

The routine work draws the same praise. Crews are named individually - Kevin, Jared, Stevie, Bobby, Jim - and reviewers consistently describe them locating buried covers, explaining the system's condition, and leaving the lawn as they found it. One team removed a deck board by hand and then pulled the town's plans to find a cover hidden under a new porch. Another suggested adding a riser so the next maintenance visit would not require digging, and to better support the sidewalk over the lid.

The work goes beyond pumping.
